Help us support our parks, wild lands, and natural treasures through art! Whether you donate $5 or $500, your contribution will make a difference. Every donation helps!

For over 150 years, artists have played an important role in the establishment of our state and national parks, inspiring people to visit iconic natural sites, and to protect our natural resources. Yosemite Renaissance is dedicated to this ideal.

Yosemite Renaissance was founded in 1985 by a visionary group of individuals who shared a passion for Yosemite and the arts.

Our flagship event is the annual Yosemite Renaissance Competition and Exhibition. The exhibit opens at the historic Yosemite National Park Museum Gallery in February, then travels to art centers across California. The exhibit includes painting, photography, printmaking, textiles, sculpture, ceramics and more. $5000 in cash awards were presented to participating artists in 2019.

Yosemite Renaissance also manages an Artist in Residence program for Yosemite National Park, offering established and emerging artists an opportunity to create works inspired by Yosemite, and to share their vision with the public.

Our goal is to continue this tradition, to offer artists unique opportunities to showcase their work, and to encourage new generations to appreciate and protect our parks and wild places through art.

Our future plans include expanding our traveling exhibit to venues outside California, and creating special projects for our Artists in Residence program that reflect current trends in the art world. Your donation will help make our efforts possible!

Yosemite Renaissance is 501c3 non-profit organization sponsored in part by funds and services from Mariposa County, Ansel Adams Gallery, Visit Yosemite Madera County, and the National Park Service.
