Artist
Jane Gyer was a long-time resident of the Yosemite area. She was particularly known for her work in watercolor, but also worked in acrylics and scratchboard, and her work often featured the Yosemite landscape. Her works are now found in many private and institutional collections in California and elsewhere. She received the first National Park Service Director’s Award for her illustrations for the book “Discovering Sierra Trees.” She collected a second Director’s Award for a poster designed for the Yosemite Fund, featuring this image-----Exhibited Yosemite Renaissance 2-----Yosemite Renaissance Artist-in-Residence
